I was diagnosed with my late twenties with adhd, after regularly seeing a psychiatrist and getting therapy from him for like four years for anxiety/depression. It took him that long to even think of that diagnosis since I have done so well in school in most cases. People don’t think “smart people” have adhd. Getting the diagnosis felt good because it helped me understand why I’m so disorganized, leave cabinets open, lose things, etc. before the diagnosis I just thought that was a personality flaw. It was empowering and I did a lot of research on it.
Does anyone think adhd is more common in people with aphantasia? Maybe people who can visualize have more fun when they are sitting still because they can picture something to entertain themselves. I know that’s only one aspect of adhd but you could also look at it as being harder to focus because you can’t visualize at all. What do you guys think?
