First you need to find someone who can visualise, and who has a strong and visible cringe reflex. Next you just need to find a scenario for them to imagine which they will find disgusting. Finally whenever something bad happens, just say "well it could be worse, [insert scenario here] could happen" and watch their reaction. It never fails to cheer me up.

Oh and if you ever have the bad luck to be dealing with someone who makes a retort about sleeping with your mother, just take the joke one step further and try to get them picturing it. Karma is sweet.

I was doing this yesterday, I like building them up with nice imagery, then knocking them back to earth with something awful. It makes me wonder who has the 'disability'...

I do this constantly, and many of my friends have known that "at least I claimed" I could not visualize for years. It would be interesting to study aphantasiac humor to see just how common this tendency is. I also like to use puns for the same cringe effect, the pun itself is not nearly as funny as a person's reaction to it.

A few of my go-to's for this are, almost anything covered in extra virgin olive oil, especially if it involves something considered unattractive by modern beauty standards. I also like to through in olfactory cues as well, really get a few strong ripe scents in for folks.

I do the same thing! I love it to pieces. Had a great discussion about STDs while a third person was eating lunch the other day.

I will talk about any subject no matter how icky it makes others feel while eating and did not even cross my mind till I read this thread that they were visualising and this was why people react badly.

This must be our form of revenge. I play with people all the time descriving things that I can't see but they can. I only realized THIS year in a random conversation that it applies to other senses as well... I like to drop "the smell of bacon" into conversations and sure enough people tell me they can smell and thus crave it. It might be my new favorite way to change the conversation.

I do this, too. I have a friend who probably rates as having hyperphantasia. It's a lot of fun messing with him. He likes using the term, "What has been seen can't be unseen."

It does depend a bit on who you know. As a vet I will quite happily eat lunch while reading a journal article with photos of things that make other people turn green......
Mind you, discussing fly strike rabbits will make most non-vets queasy, I can just pick from quite a few experiences if I want to be deliberately revolting.

This game was a favorite when I was a kid. Kids have great imaginations! Unless they are Aphantasian.
I got in trouble a few times, but nothing too bad. I like the bacon thing JennJenn said. I used the term popcorn. Dropped that and it because movie night. :)

Also, bed and other sleep references and people because tired, ready to call it a night. Use it often enough and they will sleep earlier than usual.
