I have an address file that I make my friends fill in with

Their full name and birthday
Their address

Those spouse's name and birthday
Their children's names and birthdays
Their parent's names and birthdays
and contact numbers for everyone.

I say it is incase of emergency but it is because I forget names so easily.

how did I miss this? This may be pure brilliance right here! I should do the same and have folks update it. right now if I lose my phone I am totally screwed, well I guess I have a backup somewhere, but I will still be in trouble until I get a replacement.

If I knew how I would build an app for my phone that allowed me to take a photo of someone when I meet them and store their name and file it under place I met them, and memory triggers about them.

I would use it all the time.

I have to try really hard with names.

That isn't a bad idea. I can remember numbers and birthdays but I have to practice them some. People that visulize have a hard time remembering these things to. My one friend is a great visulizer and has the hardest time remembering birthdays. When I was younger I could remember everyone's phone number. I can still remember a lot of them even thought I haven't used it in 20 years. I was talking to my friend about this awhile back how we don't know each others phone numbers anymore because our phones do that for is.
As far as remembering faces and names I stare at the person and study their face and hair and say their name over and over. I am actually not that bad at remembering people now. But it's something I have to work at.

GENIUS.
Whomever knows how to code an app - I wanna help somehow. Actually might just learn how to code just to do this.
I've searched for years for a name for what I thought was different about me. 33 years of not having a memory like my mother - and now I know why.

I don't have an issue with names and as for Birthdays and phone numbers, it's all in my phone and backed up to the cloud. So I don't even try to memorize them.

I remember a few years ago I was in two month class of 16 people. We introduced ourselves maybe twice. There was one girl that dropped out after two weeks. Well i ran into her over a year later and she recognized my face but didn't recall my name. I said her name and she was shocked. She actually said that she couldn't believe I remembered her name.

i use to have a very bad memory but I got tired of it so I got audio tapes and books that helped me develop a better memory. The techniques were pretty easy to pick up also easy to implement them. I have since forgotten were those things are now. <- see what I did there?

I think I might toss my friend a strange look if she asked me to write down all that information to keep in a box. HAHA Good you have something that works for you though. Good job.
Just last night, Jan 21, 2016, I found that my mind deals in aphantasia. In one hand I seem to hold the excitement of learning something new about myself. In the other hand I hold anger and frustration because I can never seem to realize my goals or relate to the people around me.
