Ummm.. it is a condition not a disorder.
Oh god, the misunderstanding begins....

I'm not sure that there's a single sentence in that summary that's correct. Possibly:
The long-ignored condition needs further study, according to author Adam Zema

you can practically feel the pity and horror in that little blurb, someone who just can't seem to wrap their brain around it. Now according to Zeman himself, it is a disorder, but it is not a disability. So I won't harp too much on that. Of course a disorder only exists in juxtaposition with the dominant neurological wiring. So, it is still pretty much socially constructed as far as labels go, instead of being just part of natural neurological difference. Oh how we judge that which we fail to understand.

Edit: I had to post a comment there, I could not let that stand without a balancing point of view.

I always thought people who got migraines were liars and attention seekers.

Until I starting getting them.
Feckin' karma.

It can be tough for some people who have some kind of medical issues that cannot be see with the naked eye to not have skeptics. My roommate thought I was lying when I told him I had sleeping issues (hyposomnia and hypersomnia). Until one day he noticed I was awake the entire day and into the night when he went to sleep then I was still up when he got up in the late morning. He asked me if I just took a long nap (what we call sleeping under 5 his or so) I told him I didn't sleep. He was suprised I want sleepy later on that day and ended up doing two more days without sleep. He was like "aren't you sleepy?" I told him "No but I do start hallucinating and my visual focus starts to decline around the third day and usually the fourth day I get nauseated and my back and neck starts to ache.

There are other times when I sleep fine for days then I would just sleep for two days straight. And either way I take prescription sleep at a very high dose and try to stay in a decent sleep schedule. Well the schedule didn't help so I stopped doing that.

Also I didn't drink caffeine or do energy drinks when these issues started.
