Watching commercials and other things, I realized something I'd like to share with ya'll.
Growing up I notice that family and friends kids would see a commercial and later keep that image in mind and want to buy it, or even right when it's on tv.
I've never cared or felt that commercial ever made me desire something I didn't need or could reason out it would be worth it.
I've had aphantasia since I was born so, if like to know if you guys that recently discovered it if it's harder for you to be visually lured by commercial more or less.

Yes, I would agree with this though I do get repeats of associated tunes in my head.

It's funny with tunes I can't hear them in my head but I have continually umm or whistle them.

Just want to comment on the fact that most ads nowadays play on your subconscious and not your conscious thinking. I don't think I've been aware of being influenced to buy a product by an ad, but I most likely have been. Now, I don't know if there is much difference between aphantasics and visualizers in this situation, it is possible that in some cases they are more sensible to what they see, but I think in most cases we feel equally untouched by all those ads.
